Timmy Hayes Has No Idea Why His Wife Has Left Him And Their Two Sons—And Even Less Idea How To Get Her Back…

“SHES GONE,” Timmy’s text message said.

She’s gone?! I thought to myself. Is this guy nuts? What kind of a random message is that? I hate it when people send me random, cryptic messages without explaining what they’re talking about.

Actually, only a couple of people I know do that. Strangely, Timmy isn’t one of them.

I sent a text back: “What’re you talking about? What do you mean she’s gone? What’s going on?”

His next text said, “Im a mess i dont know what to do.”

Even though Timmy lived in London and I lived in Toronto, Timmy and I kept in touch regularly, and I knew him very well. And in the seven years I’ve known him, I’d never witnessed him like this.

I decided I’d better phone him. “Bro! What’re you talking about? ‘She’s gone? I’m a mess? I don’t know what to do?’ What’re you talkin’ about? You talkin’ about your wife?”

Timmy’s voice was slow and a little distant, “Yeah…yesterday…we were having a real heart-to-heart. Things’ve been…well…pretty dead between us for a while. You know we’ve been married for about five years, but the last several months,” Timmy sighed, “things have just…really…deteriorated.”

“Yeah, you indicated,” I commented.

“Yeah…so…we were having a pretty honest conversation…and trying to figure things out…I told you that I found out she’s been secretly chatting with her ex-fiancee lately, right?”

“Yeah, you told me,” I said. “That bothered the hell outa me.”

“So…anyway,” Timmy continued, “…the conversation got deep and heartfelt and very open. To the point where I was actually crying and telling her how much I loved her…

“Then she started crying, too. And she told me she was moved that I loved her so much. Then she said, ‘But that’s not why I’m crying.’”

“Why was she crying?” I interrupted.

“Well…after I told her how much I love her, she said to me, ‘I’m crying because I wish I could say the same.’”

“Oww!” I sighed and took a deep breath. I could hardly believe she had said that. Strong words. Cutting words. Not heartless words. Honest words. But cutting nonetheless.

And things didn’t stop there…

Timmy continued, “Then today, when I get home from work, I find a letter from her.” At this point, Timmy’s voice was cracking. He now sounded more alert than he did in the beginning, but I could tell now he was hold backing tears. “It said, ‘I can’t take it anymore. I’m leaving. Please don’t try to find me. You won’t be able to. You keep the boys. You’re a better parent than I am, anyway. I’m sorry.’

“As soon as I read it, I became frantic. I started looking for her everywhere. I asked my family if they knew anything. I’m at Heathrow now. I don’t know where she is. I’m just slumped over in a corner not knowing what to do…

“I would’ve never guessed I’d be this emotional about it, but I’m—like—shaking. I guess I should’ve seen it coming. But I guess I didn’t really want to…

“N that’s when I texted you. I don’t get it. You understand what makes women tick. Tell me what to do. I don’t know what to do. I can’t understand what’s wrong with this woman. What did I do wrong?”

What Did He Do Wrong?

Well, he violated Wife Magnet Secrets #1, #2, #3, and especially #4…and Wife Magnet Secret 5, 6, and 7 don’t matter much without #4.

But we’ll come back to that.

How I Discovered The Biggest Secret To a Happy Marriage From A Secret Society Of World-Class Pickup Artists…

Keepup artist™, commonly abbreviated KUA, is a term used to describe a husband who is skilled in keeping his wife magnetically attracted to, adoring of, eager to please, weak in the knees for, and goo-goo-ga-ga over him, even after years of marriage.

This is in contrast to the term “pickup artist,” commonly abbreviated PUA, which is used to describe a man who is skilled in meeting, attracting, and seducing women.

A KUA is able to answer the question, “So you managed to get the girl…now what?”

The use of “keepup” in this context, dates from 2007 and was coined by Jemal Jelil, sometimes referred to as “The World’s 1st Keepup Artist,” though the term can be applied to any husband who fits the definition, even pre-dating 2007.

Birth of the KUA…

“Your Wife Wants A Divorce—Don’t Fight Her On It…”

That was the advice my mentor had given me back in 2002, about 5 years into my marriage, when my wife had gotten so fed up with me that she saw no choice but to seek a divorce.

Amazingly, it seems even my teacher agreed with her, even though he generally forbade his students to divorce.

To be honest, I really didn’t mind the idea of divorce. Married life had gotten so miserable that divorce would’ve been a relief. I won’t even go into the resentment and frustration I had been feeling for years. She wanted out, fine.

Just one problem: Had I failed as a man?

I asked myself, “Had I done everything in my power to make the marriage work?” Could I face myself in the future and honestly say that I did my part, that I gave it 100%?

And the answer—if I was honest—was…no.

So I decided that if she wanted out, I’d let her go, but only after I had given one last, wholehearted attempt to make it work.

And I guess that marked the beginning of my journey…

At the time I had been married for about 5 years (I got married when I was 21), and I had been mostly wingin’ it up to that point. My marriage success was pretty-much hit-and-miss…and a lot more miss than hit!

I know, I know, it was dumb of me to get married without knowing what I was doing. We get trained in just about everything else before we do it, except possibly the most important decision in our lives. I know.

Anyway, before we officially ended it, I guess I decided to give it one last shot. And I studied everything on marriage and relationships that I got my hands on.

I would spend hours in the bookstore going through every single book in the relationship section, one by one. And then I would buy the best ones and go through them in detail.

Then…I decided to do something drastic. I didn’t realize it at the time, but what I had done was apply Wife Magnet Secret #6 (and I’ve since incorporated it into my “Re-Spark Routine,” which I teach in the Wife Magnet KickStart program) and you know what…

It Worked!

Fortunately, I already had Wife Magnet Secret #4 in place to an extent, and that’s why it worked. (I don’t advise you to focus on Secret #6 until you’ve given enough attention to Secret #4, even though that’s what most guys do…and even though virtually all the marriage advice addresses Secret #6 without even considering Secret #4.)

So we stayed together. And now I was equipped with all my new marriage and relationship knowledge…

I found that a lot of the advice out there didn’t distinguish between relationships in general and marriage in particular. But marriage can be so different from other relationships.

Even worse, a lot of the stuff out there didn’t distinguish between men and women. Follow that advice and you’ll end up with two women in the house.

Another problem I found with the marriage advice available was just, way too much chick-talk! I recognize that communication is important, but is the answer to everything “you have to talk about it and express your emotions?” Be vulnerable together, maybe even cry together because you’re feeling frustrated that your boss was mean to you.

That just wasn’t gonna work for me. I just wasn’t convinced that I had to be girly to have a great marriage. (And, of course, I’m still not. You’ll discover in Wife Magnet—in Secret #1, Secret #3, and especially Secret #4—that being more manly, not less manly, will actually heighten your success, especially if you balance it with Secrets #2 and #6.)

It’s Not Your Fault…

No One’s Teaching This Stuff.

As you may have noticed, there’s almost nothing out there for just husbands—something that teaches us how to understand our wives (I remember one of my students saying, “I wish my wife came with a user’s manual”) while still being a masculine man.

As for the stuff available specifically for men, I found it’s usually about picking up women or about dating. But you’ve already got the woman, and she agreed to marry you. So now what?

Though the marriage advice out there gave some benefit, as I said, something was still missing. So several years back I found myself studying “attraction.” And I realized, “this is what I’ve been looking for.”

This is the subject that holds the key. But there was just one problem…

As I started to research attraction—what makes one man more attractive to his woman than another man to his—I found that there was nothing out there for husbands. But what was there?

And Here’s Where Things Started To Get Weird…

It turns out that there was a group of guys that did understand attraction, and who had dedicated themselves to mastering the psychology of women and the psychology of getting a woman interested. And I started studying their stuff.

These guys were known as pickup artists (PUAs, for short).

Did You Just Say Pickup Artists?!

Indeed, I did. And I understand how strange that may sound.

Yes, there was a definite mismatch.

Yes, I was a married man, who had been married for around a decade.

More than that, I’m a practicing, spiritual Muslim, who prays five times a day and doesn’t even believe in having sex with a woman unless she’s my wife.

And so being a pickup artist is not what I’m about. Far from it.

(For the record: Most of these guys weren’t the slimy, creepy type that we often associate with the term pickup artists. Most actually turned out to be decent guys that just learned how to really attract a woman.)

But these guys had me intrigued…they were definitely onto something.

What if we married men understood attraction as well as these guys?

What if you could “pick up” your wife even after years of marriage? Wouldn’t that just be too cool?

So I started getting really into the stuff. I read books. I read e-books. I listened to audios and to talks. I attended teleseminars. I travelled thousands of miles to attend live events. I even hired experts to meet with them one-on-one.

I even studied in person with some of the most famous “pickup artists” in the world.

And I started figuring out how the principles of pickup could be used to help marriages. I spent hours at a time breaking down their teachings, banging my head against the wall figuring out why what worked, worked and why what didn’t, didn’t.

And to be honest, it took me longer than I expected to “crack the code” of women’s hearts.

These pickup artists were often so different in their personalities, in their techniques, and in their teachings, that it was hard to make sense of it all.

Sometimes they would teach things that contradicted what I knew worked with a wife. (But looking back, of course they would, since the dynamic of marriage is so different from what they were teaching.)

Worse than that, sometimes these pickup artists would flat-out contradict each other.

So What Was It They Had In Common?

Could there be a general, unifying element?

Then one day, it hit me…

I Finally Had My “Aha!” Moment…

And I’m going to give you my big Aha! here.

So what was it that those pickup artists had all mastered…that if a husband also mastered it, he’d have a much happier marriage?

What Is The Biggest Secret To A Happy Marriage?

Communication?

Friendship?

Romance?

Great sex?

Quality time?

Kind words?

Diamonds?

Though all of these may help, the single biggest secret I found to a happy marriage was something else…

I’ve found this one thing to be the most significant, and yet so often neglected, factor to a happy marriage.

If you get this one factor handled, you take care of perhaps 90% of everything else.

That factor is…

MAGNETISM.

So what is magnetism, anyway? Is it physical attraction? No.

You can have everything working against you physically and still be magnetic. You can be three feet tall and handicapped in a wheelchair and be very magnetic. I say that because I met a magnetic “pickup artist” who actually *is* three feet tall and in a wheelchair.

So I’m not talking about physical attraction. (Though magnetism can create physical attraction…even if you wouldn’t traditionally be considered “physically attractive.”)

When I say magnetism, what I mean is emotional attraction. Emotional attraction.

If you know how to create emotional attraction in your wife, she’ll do just about anything to please you. And she’ll radiate like a girl that just fell in love. Because that’s exactly what’ll be happening to her.

And when you have a wife like that, 90% of the rest just falls into place. Like magic.

You see, emotions are the most powerful driving force for a woman. If you tap the right emotions (which you’ll learn about in Wife Magnet #2), you will get your wife to adore you more than you ever imagined. And when she adores you to that extent, she will focus all her attention on making you happy. Nice, eh?

Now, I want you to imagine a magnet. Okay, now imagine a spoon, or anything with iron, near that magnet. If you hold the spoon just the right Distance from the magnet, you’ll find the spoon almost trembling out of longing to draw nearer to that magnet. Are you getting the image?

That magnetic tension is such a powerful force.

Okay, for that magnetic tension to occur, I found 3 things have to be present. I call these: The Foundations of Magnetism.

They are:

1) Pull

2) Distance

3) Closeness.

Foundation 1: Pull. If that magnet has no inherent Pull, it simply can’t create that magnetic tension. There wouldn’t be anything magnetic about it; it’d just be like a piece of metal, not a magnet.

But Pull alone isn’t enough. It’s definitely a powerful factor, but Foundations 2 & 3 also need to be present.

Foundation 2: Distance. Distance is perhaps the most counterintuitive of the Foundations, and the one least addressed. And it is the biggest problem for many guys in creating and maintaining magnetic attraction with their wife.

Picture that magnet and spoon again. If you let the spoon get so close to the magnet that it actually “WHAM!” hits the magnet and is stuck to it, where is the magnetic tension? Right, it’s gone.

But look at all the advice out there…it teaches us husbands that the point of marriage is eliminate all Distance and “become as one,” or whatever other advice we hear. But as one of my pickup artist teachers put it, “getting kills wanting.”

How can she want what she has? (Sure, she can want more of it, but that’s actually her wanting the part that she doesn’t have.)

That’s the thing: magnetic attraction is actually “the tension of wanting.” And without Distance, wanting doesn’t happen. Without Distance, that magnetic tension doesn’t happen. (You’ll learn more about how to achieve the right kind of Distance in Wife Magnet Secret #4.)

So you see now that both Pull and Distance are essential to magnetism, but don’t forget that you also have to have Closeness.

Foundation 3: Closeness. If you put that spoon too far from the magnet, will the magnet have any effect on the spoon? No, it won’t. That’s right. No matter how strong the magnet’s Pull, if the spoon is too far, or even not in the magnet’s range to begin with, the magnet won’t be able to attract it.

So, be that magnet! That’s all you have to do, man. Be that magnet!

By the time you get to Wife Magnet Secret #7, you’ll establish in your wife such a powerful emotional attraction towards you that she’ll tremble out of longing for you. Just try it for yourself.

You’ll see her reaction to you even in her physiology, in her body. You’ll find her getting goosebumps around you out of her longing for you…and even when you’re not around she’ll tell you about how just the thought of you gives her goosebumps. Whether you’re newlyweds, or you’ve been married for decades.

It’s amazing.

So…

I continued studying pickup to master the underlying principles of Magnetism, because that knowledge just wasn’t available anywhere else.

Granted, I had to filter through a lot of garbage to find the gems. Some of the stuff was completely irrelevant to husbands. And some of the stuff would’ve just been bad advice for husbands.

So I decided I was going to master this field—and even systematize it—so that husbands could get the best marriage advice without having to filter through all the garbage and try to make sense of it all.

I once attended a seminar on attraction held by a guy who was ranked “the #1 pickup artist in the world.” (Yes, they actually rank that stuff! He’s a great guy, by the way.)

He brought in some of the world’s most famous ladies’ men and had all kinds of other gurus and coaches teaching at his seminar, too.

I Was Definitely Out Of Place.

Out of the 70 or so attendees, I was the only married man. And definitely the only Muslim married man who went off to a corner to pray several times each day.

So as I was hanging out with one of the head coaches that I had befriended, he asked me, “What would bring a guy like you to something like this?”

I answered, “One, because you can’t get this knowledge anywhere else, and I take it from where can I find it. And two, so that guys like me don’t have to come to things like this.”

And I was true to my word.

Having studied relationships like crazy and then studied “pickup” like crazier, I combined the best of relationship advice and wisdom with the best of pickup advice and wisdom with my own 13 years of experience and wisdom.

And I Developed The Art Of “Keepup.”

Husbands started coming to me for advice. But I was torn…Who am I to be giving anyone advice?

Who am I? I don’t have a Ph. D. I’m not a therapist or a marriage counselor. I don’t even have a perfect marriage, myself (though my wife definitely did adore me at this stage). Who was I to be advising husbands?

But I kept seeing the same issues over and over again: wife isn’t interested in her husband (even if she used to be)…wife doesn’t respect her husband…wife is overbearing…wife acts distant…wife doesn’t want sex…and so on.

And I knew in my heart that I could help other husbands. I had faced many of those issues, myself, and gotten past them, and I knew I could help others do the same.

And so I started giving my observations to the husbands who asked for my help. And you know what: the advice was working.

Even back then—before I systematized the secrets into Wife Magnet—guys were seeing results. Guys like Timmy Hayes. Check it out…

Over the next few weeks, Timmy consulted with me and started to understand how his lack of magnetism had driven his wife away…his wife who was no longer in love with him, even though she wanted to be.

Timmy had started out as Charlie Chump (i.e. a husband that’s missing Wife Magnet Secret #4), but in those few weeks, after consulting with me, he did some things that only a keepup artist—a magnetic keepup artist—would do.

And As A Result…

That was a turning point for me. Something shifted in me. I realized how badly people needed this knowledge I had discovered. If it could work for Timmy, it could work for anyone.

But I kept hesitating. I was reluctant. First of all, I’m an extremely private person.

Secondly, I kept asking myself, Who am I to be teaching anyone anything? I didn’t have any big degrees. I wasn’t famous…

But then another shift happened for me…

I happened to be at a little workshop with Jack Canfield, and he said something that hit me so hard, my eyes started to well up. He said…

“When you keep searching for something, and you don’t find it anywhere, it means you’re meant to create it.”

I Froze.

I knew there was nothing out there for husbands. I had searched and searched. I was overwhelmed with emotion. My eyes welled up. At that moment I knew for sure that I had to teach husbands how to be keepup artists…

I Had To Create Wife Magnet.

When I told Jack about my idea, he said, “That’s great! We men focus on the chase, and then when we get the girl…we stop.” (Well, now you can know exactly what to do keep the girl magnetized forever.)

So I started developing my system while at the same time continuing to study and master “keepup.”

I remember at one point soon after I had started helping husbands, when I was at that training I mentioned earlier (with the #1 pickup artist in the world), and I was hanging out with him and explaining to him how I help husbands.

I remembered how he had once complained that nobody had broken down relationships—how to keep a woman interested—the way that he, himself, had broken down pickup—how to get a woman interested. He wished someone would do it.

So I just flat-out told him that that “someone” was emerging in front of him. I was a little nervous talking so boldly and confidently in front of such a celebrity as the #1 pickup artist in the world (not to mention that he has several NY Times bestselling books and all kinds of connections with some of the most famous people in the world).

But he’s a really cool guy, and you know what he said? He said…

“That’s Awesome! Do It! Maybe If You Hold a Workshop Or Something, I’ll Attend.”

This is crazy! Everyone kept encouraging me to teach this stuff. Everyone kept telling me that I had to start teaching keepup more publicly.

When I told groups of people how I teach husbands how to be irresistible to their wives, the women would say things like,

“I wish my fiancée had found your stuff before I ended it with him. I ended it for the exact reasons you explain.”

And things like,

“If you had a book out, I’d buy four copies right now: one for my husband, one for my brother, one for my son, and one for my brother-in-law.”

One famous author with many NY Times bestselling titles, even poked me in the chest and told me that when I write a book (in his words),

“You’ve Got A Bestseller On Your Hands.”

Just one problem…

I had no idea where to begin…

I didn’t know how to write a book…

I didn’t know how to give a speech…

I didn’t even know how to create a blog (it’s true)…

So I decided to start learning how to create a website…at least it was a start. (I called the site happy-marriage-for-men.com.)

And guess what…

People were loving it!

They were benefitting. It was solving their problems.

So much so that my site hit #1 on Google for very competitive phrases…phrases like:

I even started a little email course and newsletter giving husbands advice about how to be more magnetic to their wives and helping them become KUAs.

It was simple and small, but people were benefitting. At the time, I still hadn’t developed and systematized Wife Magnet, but my stuff was changing lives anyway…
